John S. Barclay shooting John (Jack) Huron Smith in "Martha's Place" (the Lone Star Saloon) Oct. 20, 1855
in which the miners turned vigilante spurred on by a politician!

in the evening from the Jack Douglass Saloon to
the miner's cabin across from the Gazette Office behind the Wells Fargo Bldg.
